Introduction
We have introduced a drive load testing feature. This feature simply reads and writes to each drive in the pool, in a number of different sequences. The test is designed to check how the system responds to different drive loads.
The following tests are performed.
- In sequence, each hard drive in the pool is written to and read from (the default test size is 1GB)
- In sequence, all hard drives except 1 are written to and read from synchronously (the default test size is 1GB)
- All hard drives are written to and read from synchronously (the default test size is 1GB).
You are able to modify the test size, and the iteration. Under the Drive Bender registry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Division-M\Drive Bender", add (or modify) the following DWORD values
"Load Test Iterations": The number of times the test is performed.
"Load Test Size": The size in bytes of the test file.
Monitoring progress?
The progress of the test is sent to the real-time monitor and is display just after the drive list.
