Converting a PoolHD pool to a Drive Bender pool is reasonably straight forward. It involves adding 2 files to the root of each drive in the pool, and removing the PoolHD config file.
First of all, ensure the PoolHD service is not running (uninstalling PoolHD is the easiest way to do this). Next you need to create 2 files as follows (use any text editor)
1) The pool config file. The file is to be saved as "{1485AAD6-0603-4664-90D9-04321568FE7A}.PI.$DRIVEBENDER" to each drive in the pool, and must contain the following.
Id:{1485AAD6-0603-4664-90D9-04321568FE7A}
Name:Windows Pool
Description:Windows Drive Bender Pool. This pool was automatically generated.
Date:10/04/2014 1:51:54 PM
State:0
Options:
PoolKey:{827A7152-5420-4AF1-9BE1-1FEA33D77ABB}
MappedDrives:
LandingZone:-1
DriveModel:N/A
DriveSerial:N/A
You are free to change the Name and Description values here, but must be the same for each drive.
2) The mount point config file. The file is to be saved as "{????????????????}.MP.$DRIVEBENDER" to each drive in the pool (note the ???? is a temp value) and must contain the following.
Id:{????????????????}
MountName:X:\
VolumeLabel:Pool
Description:
Date:1/01/2014 00:00:00 AM
Replace the Id value {????????????????} and the file's file name with the mount point folder name that is on the PoolHD drive. You can change the MountName value with the drive you wish to mount (you can also change the VolumeLabel here also, however you can do this from the DB Manager when the pool is mounted).
Finally you need to delete the file "CONFIG.$POOLHD$" from the mount point folder on each drive in the pool.
