With the release of Drive Bender v1.4, the way licensing is locked to the machine has changed.
Prior to v1.4, the license was locked to a generated "CPU Id" (this is made up of a number of different hardware attributes). The problem with this "CPU Id" is that it can be effected by certain system components, such as updating the BIOS etc. This caused a small number of users to have continual licensing issues.
With the release of v1.4 we have changed this to also include a network card's MAC address, and therefore become more tolerant to system changes. Meaning that changes to the CPU Id (or even the network card's MAC address), will not cause the license to become invalid. The only way a license will now become invalid is if both of these values change.
Users upgrading to v1.4, should not have any licensing issues as the changes are backwards compatible with licenses that are currently activated.
However there are a number of instances where users will need to request a license release from support.
1) if the license was activated with a version prior to v1.4, then installed v1.4 on the same machine after a rebuild, the license will not activate.
2) if the license was activated with a version prior to v1.4, then you upgraded to v1.4, releasing the license via the Drive Bender Manager will fail.
