Removing the drive from the pool
The easiest way to perform the removal is to disconnect the drive (either physically or take it offline using the Windows Disk Manager), then run the pool "Repair" option. This option is located under the pool menu (upper left above the list of drives).
Note - With Drive Bender, you can perform a forced removal, this option is under the drive's detailed view.
Copying files from the drive
Next, map a drive letter to the drive via Windows Disk Manager. Open Windows Disk Manager (right-click Computer, select Manage, from here select Disk Management), find the drive in the list of drives available on the system. Right-click the drive and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths", and add a drive letter to the drive. Now the drive can be viewed via Windows Explorer.
The drive will contain one or more mount point folders. i.e. "\{mount point guid}\pooled files and folders...". To determine folder belongs to what mount point, see this article.
The following example shows the root of a pooled drive with three mount points (the highlighted folders)
If you enter the mount point folder, you will see the files and folder that make up the pool, from here you can simply copy the files from this drive back into the pool.
Removing any duplicate files first
If the drive contains duplicates, it is best to remove these first before copying the files back, this way, Drive Bender can manage balancing. The easiest way to remove them is to open Windows Explorer and search for "FOLDER.DUPLICATE.$DRIVEBENDER", this search will return all duplicated folders found on the drive, highlight all these results, and "shift - delete".
