Shared folder is no longer visible after booting

If you boot your machine and find the folder you had shared on a pooled drive are now missing, you need to check two things. First make sure the pool drive is available, if not please see this article. If so then you need to check the Lanman service (this handles Windows folder sharing). Open the services console (start menu, type "services.msc"), look for a service call "Server", right-click the and select restart (or start). Once this restarts verify that the shared folders are now visible.
