Managing folders
Folder selection is straight forward, Anvil displays all folders for the current directory in the dropdown, then when select, the list refreshes with the folder of the next directory and so on.
To add more than one folder, select the "Add this folder" and the selected folder will be added to the list, you can then select a new folder.
Managing applications
Selecting an application is as simple as selecting it from the dropdown list. When first displayed, this list contains applications installed on your system.
If you cannot find the application there, start the application you are looking for, then switch to "Select from running application", and the list will reload with all the apps currently running on your machine.
To add more than one application, select the "Add this application" and the selected application will be added to the list, you can then select a new application.
When adding applications, there are a number of special characters that can be used (ignore quotes).
"*" - This is a wildcard and allows all applications, use this with caution.
"<*>" - This is a certificate wildcard and alls all signed applications.
"-" - This is a block wildcard and blocks all applications.
"^" - This allows all applications that are within the folder(s) being protected. For example, if you have a protected folder - "c:\my folder", it would allow any application that sits within "c:\my folder".
"^*" - This is the same as "^", however, it also allows applications that are in child folders. For example, if you have a protected folder - "c:\my folder", it would allow any application that sits within "c:\my folder" and "c:\my folder\another folder".
"<Certificate Name>" - If you want to allow applications signed by a specific certificate name, encompass the certificate name with "<" and ">"... for example "<Microsoft Corporation>".
Note, many of these are available in the dropdown list, and are displayed in text format. If you do want to manually enter a value, type value and select "Create".
